The Hospital
I woke in a hospital bed. The room was white. The light was harsh. My throat was dry.
A nurse was at my bedside. She looked relieved.
"You are awake," she said. "You have been unconscious for three weeks."
Three weeks. I had no memory of how I got there. I had no memory of anything before.
"Who am I?" I asked.
The nurse's expression changed. She left the room quickly.
Within minutes, doctors arrived. They asked questions. They ran tests. They whispered among themselves.
Something was very wrong.
